“Handwritten vows, a dancing veil and the caldera as their only witness.”
Nadia and Matthew wanted their Santorini wedding to be all about the two of them: no big crowd, no rush, just honest words said out loud above the Aegean. Imerovigli, the “balcony of Santorini”, was the perfect stage for it.
They exchanged handwritten vows on a whitewashed rooftop facing Skaros Rock. The wind had its own plans and turned Nadia’s veil into a cloud of tulle around them, which gave us some of my favourite frames of the year. Between the tears and the laughter, the vows were the moment everything slowed down.
Then we walked the paths of Imerovigli together. We stopped under pink bougainvillea, beneath the famous blue domes and along terraces overlooking the volcano and the cruise ships in the caldera. Even the moody clouds were on our side and gave everything a soft, cinematic light.
This destination wedding in Greece was intimate, emotional and true to who they are. Nadia and Matthew, thank you for trusting me with your story.
