Marietta believed she was simply having a romantic couple photoshoot in Santorini. Giannis knew better. For weeks we had been planning this secret proposal in Santorini together, and keeping it from her was half the fun.

We started in the bright island light, walking through whitewashed lanes, past blue-domed churches, bell towers and bougainvillea hanging over the walls. Marietta’s flowing cream dress against the white Cycladic architecture and the deep blue of the caldera made every frame feel effortless. She was relaxed, laughing and completely unaware of what was coming.

Then came the moment. On a terrace overlooking the caldera, a heart of candles was waiting, and Giannis stood in the middle of it holding a vintage-style emerald ring. Marietta turned around, saw him and covered her face with her hands. The tears, the laughter and that shaky “yes” are exactly why I love proposal photography in Santorini.

“A red dress, a white bell tower and one very important question.”

Some proposals whisper, and some arrive in a red dress. Reuben had been planning this Santorini proposal for months, and Kate had no idea that a golden-hour walk through Oia was about to become the most important evening of their lives.

We started on the edge of the caldera, with the sea far below and the whitewashed village glowing in the late sun. Reuben went down on one knee and Kate said yes before he could finish the question. What followed was pure joy: laughter, happy tears and a little spontaneous dancing on the cliffside.

After the proposal we wandered through Oia’s narrow lanes for an engagement photoshoot in Santorini. The blue-and-white bell towers, the cycladic walls and the soft Aegean light framed the two of them perfectly. Kate’s red dress against the white of the island is exactly the kind of contrast a photographer dreams of.

Reuben and Kate, thank you for letting me be part of your “yes”. I can’t wait to see where this story takes you next.

“A heart of white roses on the edge of the caldera.”

Ethan had one mission: to plan the perfect surprise proposal in Santorini without Rhiannon suspecting a thing. He got it done. A private terrace overlooking the caldera, a heart made of white roses and candles, and the endless blue of the Aegean behind it.

Rhiannon walked down the whitewashed steps thinking it was just another holiday afternoon. Then she saw Ethan waiting in the middle of the roses with the ring in his hand. Her reaction (surprise, then disbelief, then the biggest smile) is something no posing could ever create. That is why I love proposal photography so much.

Once the ring was on her finger, we stayed for a relaxed engagement session on the terrace and the paths around it. Slow dances by the cliff, forehead kisses in the sunlight and a lot of looking at that new ring. The scalloped white walls and the volcanic cliffs gave every frame that unmistakable Santorini feeling.

Rhiannon and Ethan, here’s to the next chapter. It started in the most beautiful way.

“Candlelight, a little white chapel and a sunset picnic for two.”

There is something about a small whitewashed chapel in the Cyclades that feels made for love stories. For Arsenis and Niki’s Santorini proposal we chose exactly that: a quiet chapel on the caldera, a heart of glowing candles on the pebbled courtyard, and the evening light slowly turning everything soft and warm.

Arsenis knelt inside the candle heart and Niki was already in tears before the ring box opened. Her answer was obvious, and the hug that followed was even better.

To celebrate, we moved to the cliffs for a sunset picnic above the Aegean with champagne, fresh strawberries and wildflowers on a linen blanket. With the volcano in front of them and the island lights starting to appear, this engagement photoshoot in Greece turned into a slow and romantic evening, exactly as it should be. As a Santorini proposal photographer, evenings like this are the reason I love what I do.
